Lisa et al.
Readers, we don’t know when/if we’ll ever be back in this format. So, we’re leaving you with a sentence and a visual to remember us by as you imagine/follow us on our adventures.*
Before we do, there is someone we need to acknowledge. Without this woman, we would not have made it this far. This woman was our second wind, our end-of-week lifeline. Sharon Harris has been our guest blog coordinator for the last who-knows-how-long. She’s the one who’s helped to bring you all the fabulous Friday posts. Sharon, thank you, thank you. When I finally meet you in New York in a few months, I’m taking you out for the NYC version of a Biggie Frosty–a frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity.
Sarah and Manfriend are happily dating. Sarah found something to remind her of him while she’s living in the desert.
Lisa and Tagg are moving 2 blocks away from her favorite bread bakery in Manhattan. (This makes her about as happy as the time they went to Disneyland together…)
Rebecca and Levi are having a girl.
Louise and Tom are in Vienna, where Louise has realized that she and her fake British accent are able to convince tourists that she’s Julie Andrews’s younger sister. She’s making enough money to drown the students who annoy her in Sacher Tortes.
*Follow us on our personal blogs. Here for Sarah, here for Rebecca and here for Louise. I don’t have one yet. Tagg and I are considering getting a new he said/she said blog together. If we do, I’ll post an announcement on this site before the end of June. Check back July 1. Also, please join the Facebook group, “The Apron Stage.” Thanks again to Liz for setting it up!

Thanks for sharing so many insights and funny stories and life-moments with us. This has been my favorite blog and I really am sad to see it retire. But I will be adding all those personal blogs to Google Reader. Good luck with your life endeavors!!!

Thanks, all. It has been a pleasure reading all of your thoughts and musings. Rebecca, congrats on the baby girl! Good luck, everyone. I shall miss your corner on the interwebs.

This is so depressing! I’ve been a lame commenter the last few months but I still read and checked every day. Good luck to you all, you have each been an inspiration… I’ll be spying on your personal blogs for sure

Lisa, thanks for the update–I was starting to feel like someone had ripped the last page out of my page-turner. Please get a blog.
Sarah, Rebecca and Louise, I am grateful you all have blogs. I’m sure I won’t be able to keep my mouth shut, and you will hear from me.
Rebecca, congrats on the baby girl. I think the reason this blog is going away is so we don’t have a baby-naming contest. But if we did, I would suggest Gamma Louise.
And to all my co-commenters: see you on Facebook.

I may not comment on every post, but I have been a faithful reader of The Apron Stage for what seems like forever. And now, you have succesfully put a severe damper on my Friday. I’m not sure even a three-day weekend can help me recover.
The best to each of you!

“Good-by, Good-by, world. Good-by, Grover’s Corners… Mama and Papa. Good-bye to clocks ticking… and Mama’s sunflowers. And food and coffee. And new-ironed dresses and hot baths… and sleeping and waking up. Oh, earth, you’re too wonderful for anybody to realize you.”
Is that too melodramatic?
How about this instead:
“So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, goodbye. I leave and heave a sigh and say goodbye — Goodbye!”
Rebecca — congrats on another girl! I have three. Good times, I say.
Lisa — if I ever get to visit Manhattan, I want to know what bakery it is I should be visiting.
Sarah — Vegas is not too far from SLC. If you’re ever passing through, ask Traci for directions to the duck pond and maybe we can make you feel like a celeb.
Louise — I’m dreaming of Vienna and Sacher Tortes. And possibly drooling.
To all four of you — good luck in your respective endeavors! Merci, gracias, danke, xiexie, domo arigato, spasiba… thank you!

I just joined the AS Facebook group and added all your personal blogs to my Google Reader. I guess this officially makes me an Apron Stage groupie. (Or stalker. There’s a fine line.)
I’ve been visiting The Apron Stage every day for a year and have been a faithful reader. I’m so glad you each are willing to share your personal blogs with us too. Thanks for hosting such a wonderful blog for so long. I will certainly miss it!

Oh, I forgot to mention one of my favorite parts of The Apron Stage… the fun comments! My favorite day was when I made a comment that I had no real-live friends where I live because I’d just moved here. An AS commenter said to me, “Laurel, honey, where do you live? I’ll bring you cookies.” MADE my day!
But I never did get any cookies.

I will miss all of you. This has been a great project, and I’ve enjoyed keeping up with your various adventures. Lisa, when you get to the city, give me a call.

Lisa,
Thank you for breaking up properly. Now I can skip listing all my faults and reasons you dumped me, freeing me to go right to Barry Manillow’s “Can’t Smile Without You”. He has the right song for every occasion.
You are all wonderful for sharing a slice of your life with us. I thank you for your generosity.

I know Traci personally. So I feel pretty safe in saying she isn’t making magic brownies. Which is what it read like to me. But she rocks, so you will forgive her the lack of superpower in her brownies when she shows up. FYI
Apron Stage was an epiphany. From the witty remarks to the guest posts. I loved the well written posts and the community in the comments. It has inspired me to write.
I am writing now. Every single day. It started because of the Apron Stage. Who posted my friend Traci in a hilarious guest post. So thanks for the inspiration.
I’ll miss it.

Lisa, I am so looking forward to meeting you in person, and who knows? Maybe I’ll get out to Vegas, Senegal, Vienna, and Salt Lake too for Traci and the brownies. Wouldn’t my life be cool?! Thank you, wonderful ladies for Apron Stage. Like many others have said, my days have been inspired and brightened here over and over again.

mikelle,
The bakery is Silver Moon Bakery on 104th and Broadway. Their passion fruit panna cotta is amazing. I also love the French apple tart and the pistachio macarons. And, of course, the bread. Yum.

Thanks, ladies! Rebecca, congrats on Baby Girl Smylie #2. Lisa, once upon a time I lived two blocks away from Silver Moon Bakery. That was fun. Louise and Sarah, maybe someday I’ll get to meet you in person. And you should know that being a guest blogger on Apron Stage was one of the highlights of my life, mostly because I think you AS ladies are the coolest people ever.

Thank you ladies for some closure; I will miss the AS.
JBS: I am now inspired to write more often; maybe instead of lamenting my lack of talent, I should practice. Thanks for a little inspiration.
Congrats Rebecca on sweet little girl #2. Babies are so wonderful!

Thanks, Lisa! Silver Moon Bakery is on my radar. Sooner or later, I will get there! (And oh, how my stomach is rumbling at the thought!)

JBS, for reals, an embarrassment of riches, having you for a friend. And if by magic you meant undercooked my brownies were extremely magical. I wish you were there to try them. You were missed.
I love all of you wonderful writers. Thank you so much for the awesomeness, and the kindness, and the FSO advice, and the legwarmers. Guest posting was also a life highlight for me, not one of those wispy highlights, but a chunky, 1998 highlight. Congratulations to all of you for babies and jobs and moves and adventures and making a beautiful little corner where nice people liked to congregate.

Rebecca! A girl! And we find out here?! I can’t believe it. I really can’t believe it. I was positive it was a boy and it would have been fun to see Smylie—the boy version, but…you make really cute girls so why mess with a good thing, eh?
Congrats, congrats, congrats.

I forgot to add my congrats to Rebecca! As daughter #3 out of five (no, no boys in the family except Dad), I get excited every time I learn someone is having a girl. GIRLS ARE SO FUN!!! Happy, happy day!
